The Eighth Street Center was originally constructed as the First United Presbyterian Church in 1909.

Sunday, March 30,1955 was the last day a meeting was held by the Presbyterians before they moved into their new church. The building was then sold to the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. A local family purchased the building and restored it in 1997.
